Sen. Ted Kennedy (MA)/ Sen. Frank Church (ID) 72 44%

1980 wouldn't have been a good year for someone as liberal as Kennedy against a moderate Republican.

However, Kennedy wasn't burdened with incumbency, while Ford was much less charismatic than Reagan. He still wins easily, though I'd give Kennedy MD, WV, PA, HI, and maybe WI and OR.

Also, why NY? It was a swing state then, with Repubs fighting for it equivalent to the Dems trying to win current otl Florida. Leaned the other way, but it could tip towards you with a bit of hard work. Dont see why in a landslide it wouldn't go to Reagan
