Mitt Romney did achieve something great. He made Tom Dewey looking like he was flesh and blood.

Or "No Drama ...," er, what's his name?

Obama has never had the problem of being seen as robotic....as much as you want to believe.

While righties have, somewhat successfully, painted Obama as an elitist, I don't think anyone really sees him as robotic. Note that Romney has both problems.

"Mitt, are you just looking at things in the state and saying that you love them?"
"I love grits."
"Do you actually love grits, or are you just saying it because you saw some?"
"I love grits. I love grits."

My favorite part of this is how it implies there could be such a thing as an 'official' Southerner, considering all the definitions of the South and Southernness running around.

Wow.  He even faked the accent at the beginning, too.

"Strange things are happening to me."

What kind of strange things? Tremors? Night sweats? Hairy palms?

Remember in the Florida debate when Mitt accused Gingrich for pandering when Newt was proposing various local things (like dredging Charlston in SC and space spending in FL). At least Newt's pandering was actually related to local issues of the day, and not of the tree height/breakfast food variety.

Grits?  That food most foul?  Really?  Color me skeptical that Mittens has ever consumed it.

He said he "liked" it, not that he ate it. No Yankee who has ever tasted it, would ever say that. JMO. Smiley

Yankees like farina, right? Isn't it more or less the same thing? If Romney's succeeded at anything, he's succeeded at getting me to go make a big batch of cheesy grits with garlic pepper.

Mittens does make a lot of silly mistakes but are we overemphasizing his gaffes in comparison with other candidates in previous elections?

No. The gaffes are pretty embarrassing. Not that that will necessarily have a proportionate impact in an election. Especially one as heavily negative.

Bush's, or Romney? Bush has resided (and chooses to reside) in TX, far long enough for him to get acclimitized.

Of course Dubya's Texas twang is genuine.

Why should anyone doubt it?
