Well it's some solace for Republicans that they will at least do better than in 08. Bush really damaged the Vermont Republican brand.

Well it's some solace for Republicans that they will at least do better than in 08. Bush really damaged the Vermont Republican brand.

How much solace can they take in doing so epically bad in a state that between when they got the popular vote and the 1992 election had voted Republican 33 times, for parties that no longer exist 7 times, and Democrat just once? Vermont is historically a very Republican state, being just one of 2 Taft 1908 and Landon 1936 states. Patrick Leahy is still the one Democratic Senator from Vermont.... ever.
