The primary winner isn't necessarily the strongest general election candidate. Would Hillary have won Indiana? Probably not. But this is still strange.

I think Santorum is a much stronger general election candidate than Mitt Romney.  The former has a wide appeal to various unpleasant types (most of whom abound in Florida).. who does the latter appeal to?  Not so many.
