53% Approve of Obama in Michigan

Most voters in Michigan now like the job President Obama is doing as president, but voters give mixed marks to their new governor, Republican Rick Snyder.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Michigan finds that 53% approve of the presidents’ job performance, while 45% disapprove. This includes 34% who Strongly Approve and an identical 34% who Strongly Disapprove.

At this point I figure that President Obama would do about as well in Michigan in 2012 as he did in 2008 (57-41). The auto bailout clinched Michigan for the Democrats.

Bailout sealed MI for Obama, unions sealed OH for Obama, should the RNC even spend money on this race?

In Lean Dem states, Scott likes to just take the approval question and use it to project that Obama is underwater and down.  It failed this time.

Clearly, Republicans should just give up.  There is no way a Republican can beat Obama because unemployment is 4% and the economy is booming.

Michigan sealed for Obama I'll buy, but Ohio is far from sealed.. Obama did much worse than his national average in Ohio last time around, and I'd guess he'll do worse than his national average again here in Ohio. The state is quite a bit different than Michigan. I will say however, the pathetic job that John Kasich is doing does nothing but help Obama in Ohio.

I don't believe for a minute that Michigan is in the bag for Obama, nor Ohio.  Obama's record is so abysmal, if Michiganders vote for this again, they deserve a one-state depression.
