I live in Austin, too. I haven't heard about Bush 41 running for governor. That being said, I would vote for him. I too am tired of Perry. I only voted for him because Sanchez was a greater evil. What about Dewhurst running for governor? I know in Texas the Lt. Governor carries greater authority, but it would place him in the highest elected office in the state. However, I would love to see Bush 41 run.

spending the amount of time i have in Austin I know that perry is dead in the water, the increasing # of hispanic democrats makes a democrat ever the more likely

BUT.........

Retirement gets boring.....

One old man is in good shape for 80......

Time to rattle the saber again, and make up for '92

No im not kidding

He has considered it

I live in Westlake. I wonder how Alex Jones would receive this if Bush 41 runs. He's the local conspiracy nut on the cable access channels here in Austin. He's a big "fan" of the Bush's. God I hope Bush runs and wins just so I can sit back and enjoy the histarical halarity that is Alex Jones.

In Texas the Governor doesn't have that much power other than appointments. The Lt. Governor carries most of the power of the state's executive branch. It would be a relatively easy job compared to being president. Part of his job would be to discuss border issues with Fox. To sum up he would mainly be a public relations governor. The Lt. Governor, David Dewhurst, would run the state.

He's still around?

If you mean Alex Jones, then yes he is still around. There is a guy I work with that always tries to get me to view these tapes by Alex Jones that explains everything. Alex Jones said that it didn't matter who won the election because both Bush and Kerry belonged to the Skull & Bones and the New World Order. However, if we did vote we should vote for Badnarik.

Sounds like the same old Alex Jones...why didn't he endorse Constitution instead?

My guess is that Badnarik is from Austin and if Alex Jones could get a hold of the Libertarian party he would have a larger platform to spread his message. Only my guess. Also, the Libertarian party got some momentum in the surrounding areas of Austin.

It would definantely be Bonilla who would grab hold of Hutchinson's Senate seat. I wouldn't mind Hutchinson as governor but Strayhorn is high on my list only because she bangs heads with Rick Perry who I don't much like.

If Bonilla runs for the seat, assuming Hutchinson runs for governor, he'll easily win and may even bring more Hispanics over to the GOP which is a growing trend in Texas. During the 2004 election Bush even carried a border county, Cameron County, which usually votes strong Democratic.
