I have heard whispers that they're in debt, which is not surprising given the fact that trusting Gingrich with anything is like trusting a ten year old kid. I will not be surprised if Gingrich folds the tent tonight. I also will not be surprised to be bombarded with images of "45 STATES TO GO" signs.

Sure enough, Gingrich's campaign put any chatter to rest soon thereafter by releasing next week's schedule, showing him travelling through Colorado, Minnesota, and Ohio before ending up at the CPAC convention in Washington D.C.

The schedule is below:
Monday, February 6th Golden, CO - 11:30 a.m. - Newt 2012 Rally Golden, CO - 2:00 p.m. - Address the Colorado Energy Summit

St. Paul, MN - 8:00 p.m. - Newt 2012 Rally
Tuesday, February 7th

So he's got all of two campaign appearances in Colorado and one in Minnesota?  Pathetic.  He should have followed the Santorum approach of campaigning lightly in Nevada (since he never had a chance there), and focusing more on CO and MN.

I really don't get why the Romney bots are so insistent upon every one else conceding to "inevitability" if they truly think Mitt is a good candidate.  A lengthy primary campaign most certainly did not hurt Obama in 2008.  If anything, it helped him by enabling him to build up a tested campaign structure in many states for the fall instead of a few early ones.  It also would give Romney's campaign a chance to try out different messages of why people should vote for Romney to see what is effective.  He'll need more than mud being slung by his Super PAC come the general election.

I agree.  Especially in a year when there is an anti-incumbent vote that can be more easily focused; and a group of people who need to be identified and catered to (Paul supporters and ardent anti-Mitters), I really don't buy the "long-term primary campaign hurts Mitt Romney" line.

Then again, I completely buy the idea that Mitt Romney has hurt Mitt Romney during the primaries by being Mitt Romney.

In short, this needs to end soon because Gingrich is being so ugly that he's turning off a heck of a lot of female voters, who are going to decide who is the next POTUS (will definitely not be Gingrich, BTW).

Turns out this whole thread was just another dirty trick from the Romney campaign: spread false rumors that Gingrich was going to withdraw from the race to demoralize Gingrich supporters.

What do you folks think will be Romney's next dirty trick?

I keep seeing the words, "Newt to withdraw tom.." on the index page and I always get really excited about the news...then I click.
