No it isn't. Life expectancy has risen since we implemented social security and medicare. These people are living off the system longer and putting a bigger strain on the system.

All of these guys' answers for Social Security and Medicare are pretty awful.  I don't really care about Social Security, because its solvable, but Medicare...  Well, no one has a clue on that one.

Besides, having in a system in that lets one generation retire early and another retire later just isn't fair.  It would be far more reasonable to knock people off government benefit programs if they're very wealthy, but of course, no one would like that.
