Driver is among the dead. Transport Canada is sending 2 inspectors, Harper and the MPs directly affected - Baird, Poilievre - have already released statements expressing sorrow at the tragedy.

Bus never slowed down... apparently passengers were yelling at the driver asking him to stop.

What a moron. It continues to be incredible how dumb some of these drivers are. I can't say his apparent death is tragic, considering he was a reckless moron who killed people because he can't drive properly.

Bus was route 76, which sounds like an express bus number (runs one way during peak periods, costs more)

Bus was very full, most of the passengers getting on at Fallowfield Stn, which is the major bus station in Barrhaven, and is also a VIA rail train station.

Bus driver seemed to be withdrawn, wasn't acknowledging passengers when they got on. Could have been depressed. No attempts to slow down.

In other news, wholeheartedly agree that our own Parliament Act is long overdue. That's what Harper and Poilievre should be working on. Also, Andrew Leslie is joining the Grits as a policy advisor and sounds like he's running in the next election.

Dix has submitted his resignation letter to the NDP executive and informed caucus of his decision, but will stay on till his successor's elected. Suggestions of a convention next spring. Now official.

I was wondering if that might have been the case.

If that's true and he/she wanted to end his life, that seems like a rather self-centered way to do it; disregarding the lives of dozens of innocents to end his/her own.

It was a man. Apparently it was his wife's birthday the day before. Maybe he was hungover?

The Calgary election will be boring, due to Nenshi's coronation. Real race will be Edmonton.
