Tragedy in NB: an escaped python strangled two young boys in their sleep. Sad Animal experts are baffled.

FYI, orders came down from party headquarters to be ready for the writ to drop by next week. Apparently we're going to have a summer campaign.

Nova Scotia Provincial Election Base Map, Key Map, and starting margins/notional results in Gallery, whenever the thread gets started.

Harb saga continues.

On an earlier note, apparently the anti-Hudak push is from a small group of hardened malcontents based out of London. Not their first time either.

Jerry Dias, a senior CAW official, will be the president of the new labour federation UNIFOR. In more urgent news, Don Martin said on Twitter that the Senate leaders are negotiating to recall the Red Chamber to deal with the "really bad" Wallin audit before the RCMP is called in. Yikes.

The Sun is still on their anti-Hudak crusade, but they've never liked him anyways. Morons.

Grenier on why the anti-Hudak push is pointless.

Hudak deserves to stay IMO, but if I were a Tory, I probably wouldn't like him that much as a leader. But, he hasn't been terrible in terms of getting results for his party. Certainly an improvement over John "epic fail" Tory.

Anyways, when is this NS election supposed to  happen? DC, you've given us false information!

Heard October from NS journalists on Twitter. As for Hudak, Radwanski pinpointed this to a handful of senior people within the party bureaucracy plus caucus malcontents. Certainly crappy by-election polls aren't worth holding a review over.

Spent the last week running around helping the campaign get ready for an "IMMINENT ELECTION" and all for nothing Tongue

On another note, the Greens are only aiming for a half slate this time around, and the Atlantica Party is aiming to run 5-10 as independents. Also a member of Occupy is running as an independent in my riding... Occupy people really like my neighbourhood for some reason.

Soft libertarians. They also want the Atlantic provinces to merge, hence the name.

Oh. They shouldn't merge; in fact I would split them up further: Cape Breton and Acadia should become provinces and Labrador should become a territory. Of course, I would split up other provinces too- but that's a different story.

Russell thinks there's a shot of the Court allowing the government to unilaterally impose Senate term limits under Section 44.

Wallin will have to repay $140k, and someone tried to doctor the expense claims while they were being processed.

Former Option Nationale leader, Jean-Martin Aussant, is back to the job he was doing before he entered politics. High-ranking position for Morgan Stanley in London.

I don't see how a person can be the leader of an hard-left party and working at Morgan Stanley.

Last I checked ON was more pur-et-dur than hard-left, unlike QS. Plus I'm sure his economic views aren't terribly out of sync with his constituents. While we're on the subject of #polqc economic views, Couillard attacked the PQ from the left- no, not a typo- as "pseudo-social democrats." ROFLMAO.

How would you define Acadia?

Francophone New Brunswick. It wouldn't exactly be contiguous, mind you- and perhaps parts of Nova Scotia might want to join as well.

Then it'd be really messed up geographically Tongue

I imagine if he wins the election, he'll take take the seat, but it's hardly safe. They couldn't find a Montreal MNA who wants to retire?
