I'm looking for a list of the number of Republicans and Democrats in the U.S. House from each state. I did a Google search and couldn't find anything except partisan composition of state legislatures. Anyone know where to look?

For example, Alaska would obviously be 1R, 0D.

I'm looking for 109th.

Most things aren't secret, but that doesn't make them any easier to find.

Thanks, but I already saw that and another Wikipedia page, but it doesn't have the actual number of Republicans and Democrats. I could count, but some have 53 reps (California) and I figure this must already be somewhere out there.

The Senate would be easier to find.  The official Senate website has it broken down by state and lists who is in which party.

The House...I'm not as familiar with their site, and I think they just have a list of all 435 Representatives.  If I come across anything I'll post it here.

In the meantime:  Kansas  3R, 1D

No, I can find that, but I can't get the actual numbers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._House_election,_2004

It'd take forever to count states like California and Texas.

Longer than it takes to create a topic and reply three times?

Tennessee: 5D, 4R
Texas: 21R, 11D

There.  Enjoy. Wink

It actually didn't take forever.  You just count the number of people in the minority party in each state and subtract that number from the total number of congressional districts to get the number of people in the majority party.
