This is why we need a paper trail! If there was a paper trail of any sort, one mishap would not throw the entire election out. At least have a Voter Verified Audit Trail, which I heartily support. This is VOTING we're talking about, there is nothing more fundamental or sarcosanct!

There must be a backup mechanism, period.

since the democrats have suddenly come down with revote fever, why not have a revote in the supt. of public instruction race?

britt cobb isnt going to stop whining until he gets mike easley's loyal followers on the state elections board to authorize a revote where only single black women inside the city limits of durham can vote.  hell, we can get jesse jackson to be the emcee.

Actually, they know which people cast the votes that were lost.  There is a simple solution of just having those few revote, but the odds of that overturning the result is slim to none.

Instead we are going to have a revote.

Which sounds good to me.  Maybe we should try it in Washington.
