The moral of the story is that at any venue where there is a mike that is allegedly turned off, or out of range, you say nothing to anyone that would embarrass you if it was overheard.  You save the smash mouth talk for venues behind closed doors.

Is there any traction to the suggestion that Netanyahu is a pathological liar, whose word is worthless?  Just asking. I really don't know the guy's reputation on that. Are there any concrete examples?

I have no idea.  I honestly don't pay that much attention to that quagmire over there.  I just saw that little "lecture" that he gave Obama in the White House and then I watched the Republicans pile on.  It was very bizarre.  Netenyahu was out of line and I can't believe instead of just being quiet the Republican candidates chose to tear Obama down.  I pray that if the situation was ever reversed Democrats would not behave in that fashion...

Check up on the scandal that drove him out of office the last time he was in.  That's the only thing I can think of, but it's pretty telling.

Netanyahu makes Romney look like a hardcore ideologue.

And since when criticizing the Israeli prime minister's character makes you an anti-semite?

It may be what people secretly think internationally, but in Israel it's common knowledge.

People in America up in arms about this are funny. If Bibi lost re-election tomorrow, they'd forget all about him and worship the next PM just as much.

Yeah, I wonder how many of these types also blindly defended Olmert even though he was about as popular as Arnold Schwarzenegger was at the end of his term in Israel.

The notion that a politician could be concerned that a peer was a "liar" is laughable.

The pathetic part is that what is being denounced is Netanyahu for lying to other politicians.

This is the inverse of what should be the case. A politician lying to voters ought to be an offense orders of magnitude worse than lying to another politician.

Between this guy and Romney, my support-of-bullsh**t-politicians is full practically up to the brim.

But I still support him. I remember in '09, my grandma was very upset Lieberman and Yisrael Beiteinu didn't win, when what happened was seriously the best-case scenario for him and YB.

I'm pretty sure that not liking Bibi doesn't disqualify you from the latter position...

Ah, this must be more of that "Let's show more respect for our friends around the world" agenda that the President preached about in 2008. Very diplomatic.

He was.  He was establishing a bond with America's oldest ally, France, through Sarkozy.

(In all honesty, I've gotten the impression that Obama and Sarkozy really do like each other.  Obama's going to be so disappointed when Sarkozy gets slaughtered this spring)

Bibi showed up at the White House and took a dump on the rug.  Calling him a pain in the @$$ in a private conversation≠telling the world F-you and then illegally invading a country halfway around the world and murdering hundreds of thousands of innocent women and children.  It's a subtle difference... but it is a difference.

There is a time to be a diplomat (whore) and there is a time to have a modicum of self respect.

Never heard about Netanyahu soiling the carpet at the White House. Anyone have the details? Or, are there none?
