Just the other day my friend and I were wondering how many people would sooner marry their guns than allow a gay couple to marry.  This goes some way to answering that.

Well, that gives the term "gun fetishist" a whole new meaning.

How much less strict could gun laws really be at this point? None of them at all? I also find it amusing that, as gun laws have become less strict in the last decade, people wanting more strict gun laws has consistently gone down. This country..

Weird that the reduced gun laws have not caused the bloodbath you anti-gunners wanted isn't it?

The rise in unemployment has led to a rise in petty crime (breaking and entering, grand theft auto, purse snatching, etc). Since so many cities have to lay off cops people have decided to love their guns even more as a way of warding off the foul. I would expect a lot more reports of vigilante justice as the econonomy continues it's decline into the abyss.

Did you forget that we still have FAR more gun murders than any other rich country?

Germany has less than 300 gun murders a year.

Spain has less than 100.

The United Kingdom has less than 50.

Compare overall murder rates then. Still a huge difference.

This past year has seen an increase in women discovering their husbands' secret gun stash.

well, I'm sure the US also has more deaths due to auto and boating accidents, but that doesn’t mean we're about to give up our cars or boats...besides most of the murder rate in the US is minorities killing other minorities; if a cracker wants to get back at someone, he’ll just ruin their business reputation.

Obviously if we didn't have guns there would be fewer murders, most people who use guns are too cowardly to kill someone by hand.

Obviously if we didn't have guns there would be fewer murders, most people who use guns are too cowardly to kill someone by hand.

and if we didn't have blacks there would be fewer murders...and if we didn't have Italians there would be less organized crime...and if we didn't have Jews we'd have less banks to bail out...and if we didn't have electricity there would be fewer electrocutions...and if we didn't have cars there would be fewer highway deaths, most people are too lazy to walk 15 miles to work.

what is your point?  if you don't like Americans having guns, then why don't you attempt to take them away?

Well I stand corrected. I should have looked up a chart before I blew my mouth. I guess it is just a love of the gun that makes Americans love guns. I blame Death Wish...

It may also have something to do the the American psyche of always needing to fear something (like crime and minorities committing them) even if the threat is not there as evidenced by your chart. Americans are the most scared people on Earth. The gun makers cash in on this fact. We should all follow their example and try to find ways to profit off of the American pastime of being afraid for no reason.

That depends on where you live, no?  Washington DC and New York City's handgun laws are so strict that law-abiding non-politically connected people can't easily get a handgun license.  Guns for Trump and the criminals but not for thee.

You cannot blame people living in the East for not owning guns. The laws are way too strict here. Well, you could blame the people who voted for the idiots that gave us the restrictions.
