Perry is currently at 235 executions and 270 electoral votes are needed to win. I just thought this would be a fun bet if he won the nomination haha.

It's also possible for him to exactly tie his number of executions.

To tie it he would have to stop now for the next 14 months with that map

Does the 235 number include the most recently executed person tonight?

And this thread is meant for sarcastic humor, not serious discussions on the death penalty.

Including the terrorist executed tonight -- Lawrence Brewer, one of two sentenced to death for dragging a black man to death.

I won't hold that one against Rick Perry.

Well, if he gets less than 270 EVs, he gets two more years to rack up 35 more EXs.

Perry will probably have executed 260 persons and he will get about 250 electoral votes.

Therefore I voted executions.

I believe his crime was used in a grotesque political attack ad against Bush back in 2000.  I tried looking for it on YouTube but couldn't find it.  Bush didn't support or decided to veto some hate crime law in Texas.  It was one of the worst attack ads I have ever seen

I won't hold that one against Rick Perry.

Increased gender association sensitivity training would have been a better alternative for Brewer, as well as being a stronger deterrent for others.

Rick Perry does not execute anybody, so the answer is quite clear.

Does signing a death warrant count?

It could. However, you are still extremely ignorant, as are most of the posters here.

This is a typical liberal lie spouted by fools.

http://law.onecle.com/texas/criminal-procedure/43.15.00.html

WARRANT OF EXECUTION.  Whenever any person is sentenced to death, the clerk of the court in which the sentence is pronounced, shall within ten days after the court enters its  order setting the date for execution, issue a warrant under the seal  of the court for the execution of the sentence of death, which shall  recite the fact of conviction, setting forth specifically the  offense, the judgment of the court, the time fixed for his execution, and directed to the Director of the Department of Corrections at Huntsville, Texas, commanding him to proceed, at the time and place named in the order of execution, to carry the same into execution, as provided in the preceding Article, and shall deliver such warrant to the sheriff of the county in which such judgment of conviction was had, to be by him delivered to the said Director of the Department of Corrections, together with the condemned person if he has not previously been so delivered.

Rick Perry can only be executed once, and that isn't very likely.

Campaigning while conservative isn't a capital offense, yet, but, I'm sure there are those whom are trying.

Murderers sign their own death warrants at the time of their crimes.

Grin

I'm not sure that Perry will even win the nomination (and even if he does, he won't win), so executions.

Since I'm one of the few on-site Democrats who think we're seriously underestimating Perry as potential future President, I'd say more EVs.

If we don't want to be humourless pedants, electoral votes.
