I want to know how to change, for example California's current electoral vote from 55 to 56 and then 58, and so forth and what is the formula for doing so?

If you want to post a map from the electoral college calcualtor and change the EV for CA from 55 to 56, click show map link then go into it. The second number after each state is the electoral vote for that state so change where it says (to take the 2008 default)"CA=1;55;6" to "CA=1;56;6" once you copy the link into your post.

However, that only works after you are done using the electoral vote calculator itself and posting it. You'll need to keep track of what electoral votes you redistribute from one state to another in order to calculate your electoral college totals for each candidate.

Maybe there is another way to do it, but I don't know of it.
