How do I hide my email?

Hello. I'm a longtime lurker and a new member. I was just setting up all my profile settings and preferences and I usually choose to hide my email address on most every forum (prefer PMs) and I'm not sure how to do it here? I checked the "Hide email address from public" box on the Modify Profile#Account Related Settings part of my profile but I still see it next to every post I make and on my profile summary page. I read the help page and subsection on it but there really doesn't seem to be any other options about it.

So is my email not hidden or already hidden and I can just see my own because it's my account?

It's not really that important (just one of my many email accounts), but I like to be consistent. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

EDIT: It appears that it was hidden, just available only to me. Thanks for the help all.
