for those that don't know, Dan Kuykendall was a backlash republican who was elected in 1966 in a Memphis area district whose claim to fame was opposition to civil rights and busing. By 1974, a lot of his constituents had moved into Robin Beard's district and contributed to a narrow loss to upstart democrat Harold Ford (Sr).

My guess would be Ed Royce or maybe Pete Sessions.
