Biden is respectable.  I would have to see who he is running against.  40% chance I would vote for him vs. generic Republican.

On a side note, I think he was the only Senator to speak at Strom Turmound's funeral, which gives him a lot of stature points in my mind.

I, too, like Joe Biden, but we, as Democrats, NEED to understand that running northerners isn't going to win us any southern states.  Period.

Ummmm... Biden is from Delaware.

I think by south he means more like Alabama, Tennessee, etc.

Who are they going to run?  There simply aren't any high profile Democrats down there any more except Bill Nelson.

Phil Bredesen, Governor of Tennessee. Mike Easley, Governor of North Carolina. Maybe at some point Senator Mark Pryor of Arkansas, but he's inexperienced.

They may not be high-profile, but was Howard Dean high-profile in 2002?

No, but Howard Dean was able to tap into the anger and hatred of the left.  That takes a special man during a special election.
