Time for conservative people... and the last 2 PP candidates:

Mariano Rajoy Brey - 8 votes

José María Aznar - 4 votes

José Antonio Ardanza 4 votes

______________________________________

Jordi Pujol i Soley - 3 votes
Pedro Solbes Mira - 3 votes

______________________________________

Two politicians will be eliminated. 1 vote to eliminate, 1 to keep.

OK, as Aznar is ousted, I'd like to oust Zapatero immediately, but I know I'd have a cordon sanitaire around him... Sad

Aznar wasn't likeable personally, but he achieved something important politically by making the right electable again.

Eliminate
Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega

Keep
Ruiz-Gallardon
(I'm forced to foresee another stupid vote Grin)

Eliminate Esperanza Aguirre

Keep Pedro Solbes

____

big bad, if Aznar had been a moderate person, PP should have won in 2004... the Irak war killed Rajoy's chances... and in 2008, PP would have won if people in Catalonia and the Basque Country had stayed home as usual... nationalists, moderates, socialists, communists, and even conservatives there voted PSOE because they were afraid of a PP presidency (Aznar and his ministers really hated Basques and Catalonians).

In 2004, PP was about to win, even though with a short margin (due to Iraq).
It lost because Aznar lied about terrorism and rushed to accuse the ETA.

The fact that Zapatero was the surprising winner, almost by default and because Aznar was too confident and proud of himself, is, in itself, quite an achievement for a PP which was still identified as franquist.

I don't like Aznar at all, but he wasn't so bad electorally and politically speaking.
I'm not interested in policies, just in politics, you see Wink.

Anyway.
I'll kill you twice for trying to oust also Esperanza Grin.

I hope you guys will spare Rato for some rounds, at least Wink.

eliminate Esperanza Aguirre
keep Jordi Pujol

Aznar was a reactionary anti-Basque bigot whose nationalist/regionalist=terrorist amalgam was typical Francoist bullcrap. Maybe it's a pity ETA didn't blow his ass up.

BBF, do you like Esperanza Aguirre? =( she has been the worst president we've had here in Madrid... she has not done ONE thing carefully
And I'm wondering why do you want to eliminate Pujol before Aguirre.. I don't like them, but Pujol is a beloved ex-president of Catalonia, and she's our... our problem here in Madrid.

I'll regret Pujol.

As for Aguirre, it's again politics, not policies.
I don't know her very well, I'm just interested in internal fightings and shenanigans inside the PP, a bit like for the French PS Wink.

And don't forget that if there was a similar survivor for France, you'd vote to save Royal Tongue, which makes all the French posters to ROFL, whatever their political positioning Grin.
So, I guess I'm entitled to try to keep Aguirre (though I, in fact, opted for Ruiz-Gallardon, not Esperanza Wink).

Wink

It's funny, cause i probably have much more in common with you than with many here Tongue I suppose that my philosophy of not letting PSOE go deep in survivors because they always do that, is what keeps us apart during voting times Grin

that's probably right hahaha.. I only vote to keep PSOE always because I'm a member of that party... and I know you always try to eliminate the "estabilishment" favourites, while I usually vote to eliminate the least important parties/people/clubs...
But I suppose you're a leftist, like me.
