I think it's funny that a Socialist (in-name-only) was the exploiter-in-chief of entire nations.

A very intelligent person and a brilliant economist, he was one of the most successful finance ministers of recent times. He has done more for the advancement of left-wing policies than all the "true leftists" who consider him as a "traitor". He would have made an excellent president for France.

Of course if he's guilty, he's a massive HP who must DIAF. But politically, he's undoubtedly a FF.

Option 2 but replace 'but' with 'and'.

One of the better choices from the French Left politically. But pretty clearly a horrible person.

HP even without the rape. Actually, I'd say he raped developing countries.

He would have made an excellent president for France.

And an even better one for Italy.  Wink

Ah, whatever.  I can't honestly say I'm following the story that closely.  I admit that I had to google "DSK" when I saw your thread, but once I did I saw who you mean; you can't help but see nightly updates if you watch the news.  Luckily there are also tornadoes, wars, a shuttle mission, and a worldwide economic crisis, so we don't have to be subjected to 24/7 coverage of this story.

He's probably horrible.  He's a politician after all.  But the third option has the feel of personal optimism, so I'm voting for the third option.
