I'd like to start by trading my set, and placing all armies on my one state. I'll need to think about my further moves for a bit if that is okay. (I'd like to know how many armies I'm getting)

set: Idaho (horse), Indiana (gun), Louisiana (man)

how many cards does mikado have

all on Arizona

Attack Cali, do or die, all in.

Retreat following victory so that the number of armies in both states is equal, if 1 extra is needed, put it in Cali.

Take card.

How on earth did you get 6 cards? Once you have 5 you are forced to trade in, no?

I stole them from Mikado Sad
I have been operation on the presumption that this game would use normal risk rules - which would have forced you to trade that set on the spot. If standard rules are not going to be used then my entire gameplay from the start has been faulty.

BK should have taken me out when he had the chance.

I've won the game.

You would have been able to try (and fail) Tongue

Then I'd have cashed my set on that last turn and not this coming turn.

Teddy has finally accumulated the magic set that gives him 100 battalions.

Fear.

There are only 2 wildcards in the game Tongue

Trade these cards for 10 extra troops.

Place 1 troop on Cali
Place 4 troops on Nevada
Place 8 troops on Oregon

NV to Utah, leave a grand total of 2 troops behind, do or die
Utah to Colorado, leave a grand total of 2 troops behind, do or die
Oregon to Washington, leave a grand total of 2 troops behind, do or die
Washington to Idaho, leave a grand total of 2 troops behind, do or die

IF there are now currently 9 or fewer troops in Idaho, follow path A
IF there are now currently 10 or more troops in Idaho, follow path B

Path A:
From Idaho, attack Wyoming, all in do or die, split troops evenly between Idaho and Wyoming, with any extras in Idaho

Path B:
Idaho to Montana, leave a grand total of 2 troops behind, do or die
Montana to Wyomong, all in do or die, split remainder evenly; if there is an odd number, retreat that single troop to Idaho.

End turn, take card.

I hope my moves make sense now Tongue Had I not played so conservatively, I'd have been eliminated by now. Given the god awful starting position I had, I'd consider myself rather lucky!

Nobody ever considered me a threat.

Exactly.

That's how I win risk games Tongue I tend to win my first few against a new group until they figure out I'm good at the game

Even though people are aware that I am trying to not be a threat, it does not change the fact that I am, actually, at this time, not a threat, to anybody! This is how I manage to survive.

about 35% of the time I play risk, I am the first player to be defeated.
30% of the time I win
30% of the time I am the LAST player to be defeated
Only 5% of the time do I end up with some other outcome (IE being defeated somewhere between 2nd and 4th)

I dont play as many games as you may think Tongue

I purposefully play to be as non threatening as possible. I learned that playing against the computer actually. I had one hell of an epic game on facebook risk against 2 others who played the same. DAMN that was epic. I was the last to be defeated in the game.

The only reason people tend to have to eliminate me first is fear of what I can do if I'm left alive too long.

I've come back from a single territory to win multiple times, once, with only 2 armies. Sadly, I've never managed to do it with 1, but I was once beat by someone who managed to pull that off. (Of course, I was the last to go in that game)

Frankly, looking at the board as-is, BK and Lewis can either
A - take me out now out of fear of what I can do, and, be crushed next
or
B - try to take the lead away from Gustaf

Then it comes down to me VS whoever that person is. Sadly, by that time, due to the Monty Hall paradox, I tend to lose more often than not.

It may be a language thing, but "all to kentucky" to me says "all units, move to kentucky, leaving none behind"

1 in Idaho
1 in Utah
3 in Colorado

Attack, Colorado to Kansas, all units. Stop attack if Colorado is reduced to 4 or fewer units. Otherwise continue.

Once occupied, retreat all possible troops from Kansas back into Colorado.

Don't wait up for me. I need to give this some strategic thought. I'll give order in a few hours.
