My apologies for the delay. I was inexplicably absent from all forms of the interweb these past five days.

Reinforce Illinois.

Attack Illinois-Wisconsin, moving all troops.
Attack Kentucky-Missouri do or die, moving (if I have a choice, ie I don't lose a unit) only three units to Missouri.
Attack Ohio-Indiana do or die.
Tactically move all available units from Indiana back to Ohio.
End turn. Minnesota and Michigan are FF states that do not require liberation.

2 on Iowa, 1 on Kentucky. Attack NJ-PA do or die. Attack OH-MI do or die.
If unsuccessful, await further orders. If successful, attack WI-MN do or die, tactically move all available units from PA to OH, and end turn.
Oh yeah, if WI-MN fails but Teddy has only one unit left in MN, attack it from Iowa.

I suppose so. Cheesy

Oh well. Attack WI-MN do or die, moving only the minimum required to MN. Await further instructions if I fall below three attacking units.

Yes, I meant for you to await further instructions either way, but interrupt the attack at such a point. Thanks!

'Kay. Make a further do-or-die attempt at subduing those pesky mittenheads, from Wisconsin this time. Irrespective of outcome, tacticalmove everybody available from PA to OH and end turn.

Hmmm... toughy. 3 each on KY and MN, 2 each on OH and IA, 1 on MO. Attack MN-ND, stop if I lose two units. If successful, tactically move them back to MN and end turn. If unsuccessful, await further orders.

(Though if someone doesn't break Lewis' bonus soon, he's going to rack up numbers fast.)
Ssshh. Sets are going to be flowing all around us soon, anyhow.

It's probably no use pressing thumbs for homely here, is it? If there's anything left at the end of BK's rampage it falls to Gustaf, not me.

Put in Iowa, conquer Minnesota, if successful split in such a fashion as to leave 1 or 2 units more in MN than in IA, tactically move two from Kentucky to Missouri, mutter dark curses in a broadly westerly direction, and end turn.
If unsuccessful, refer back for further orders. Tongue

2 on Kentucky, remainder on Iowa. Attack IA-SD, leaving 4 behind in Iowa. (Stop if there are five or fewer units left in IA.) Await further oders.

Very good, attack SD-ND until the number of units in SD falls to four or less or the number of units in ND falls to two or less. In the latter case, MN-ND do or die. Actually, in the first case as well, should ND be down to four or less.
Await further instructions.

Lewis Trondheim [6] rolls 3 dice:   [6] [5] [5]
The Mikado [6] rolls 2 dice:   [6] [5]
Lewis Trondheim loses 2 battalions

Lewis Trondheim [4] rolls 3 dice:   [6] [5] [5]
The Mikado [6] rolls 2 dice:   [5] [4]
The Mikado loses 2 battalions

Lewis Trondheim [4] rolls 3 dice:   [6] [6] [1]
The Mikado [4] rolls 2 dice:   [6] [5]
Both armies lose 1 battalion each

That's some pretty high rolling from both sides.

Move three from SD to MN and end my turn.

What is Gustaf planning on doing with those 21 armies in New York?  Is he waiting for either Lewis and/or Bacon King to come to them?

Sneak attack on Lewis via Ontario. Wink
I have 905 units piled up around Toronto.

Pretty sure dice are traditionally viewed as in the devil's domain, so you want him to realize Bacon King is not evil.

Trading in WI, SC and PA for four extra units (plus two on WI). Place all in KY.
Attack ND-SD-NE-WY do or die.
Attack KY-TN do or die. If successful... well I'd have to draw up a very complex set of options depending on how many units survive... can I just decide that after the attack proper?

Leave 8 in KY and 5 in TN. Move one from MI to OH. End turn.

I was under the vague impression that BK could only trade in one set per round, so more rules confusion. Not that I particularly mind, btw, cause that would have meant he would have been certain to trade a set this turn and another next turn (he'd have ended this turn on five cards).

Put all reinforcements into Ohio.
The MO garrison is ordered to commiserate the Oklahomans' fate.
Attack OH-KY do or die. Distribute survivors evenly, putting the extra (if any) in Kentucky. Tactically move two from WI to IL.

Um, by "commiserate", did you mean "invade"?
No.
