Important message to Teddy

Whatever you do, don't attack the Midwest. The Mikado did, and the Mikado is dead. Bacon King did, and Bacon King is porkroast. If you do, you are dead and Gustaf wins this game. I have seven cards on hand.

Thanks Joe, move three from Arkansas to Missouri and end my turn.

Don't wait up for me. I need to give this some strategic thought. I'll give order in a few hours.

I dont think it's a secret that Gustaf and I have exchanged a few PM's trying to figure out what to do. It's just good strategy.

My problem is this.

If I do attack, I will die before my next turn. Both Gustaf and Lewis could pick me clean.
If I don't attack, I give Lewis (or Gustaf) a huge advantage.

For the record - I have a set. I had 2 wildcards when someone speculated I had 3 Tongue

I would like a few more (not many) hours to finally decide exactly what I want to do.

Why would we do that? It's hardly worth the effort, especially if you've just traded in a set. If you don't attack Lewis, then neither will I and then he wins. Any other outcome is better for both of us. Tongue

Won't you?

Obviously, if you have a set then I probably can't wipe you out on my own. But Gustaf and I together can (you'll have no cards left, so no reason on earth for Gustaf not to go for it). So maybe you should eliminate Gustaf's westerly possessions, thus also leaving Gustaf with no choice but to attack me and incur my wrath. Azn

That seems like his worse possible call. Wink

With the strong position you have right now there is no reason for me to attack Teddy. That would only strengthen your odds of winning.

I can certainly think of worse ones.

That would only strengthen your odds of winning.

Obviously ganging up on me is the "normal", first reaction in this situation. It is what we did with BK, after all.
Whether it actually is the most reasonable move for Teddy is less certain... not clearly wrong, I'm not saying that.

Well, given your combination of card and region strength, plus the threats you leveled I don't think we have much choice other than ganging up. That ought to level the playing field to a position where anyone can take it.

You actually have more units than me. The Southeast is ridiculously undefended.
Also, of course, my threat was quite specific... it did not concern my Plains states, for instance. And I will act on it.

I might have more units, but I don't have a double-set of cards to throw into the mix...

You might have one. Or you might not. You'll have before long, anyways. Sad (Anyways you still can't use the NY troops for an attack.)

Yes, that's also a good point in my favour. Tongue Or rather in your favour, and thus in favour of attacking you.

I'm not sure whether I should pretend to have a set or pretend not to have a set to deter an attack on me. :S

Congratulations General, here's your card:

You now have a set.  If you want to trade in your collected cards, either re-post the images in the thread at the start of your next turn, or state what particular cards you're trading in (for the benefit of myself and the other players).

As a reminder, these are the other cards you currently hold:

I'm trading these cards for 10 troops

I've come to the conclusion that I have no choice but to trust Gustaf. If I don't attack Lewis, I die, if I do, I might die. Getting rid of my cards and my 2-on-each-state strategy will ensure that my record of always seeming to be the last one to die will stay. Only Luck can make me win this now.

Add my 15 troops to Colorado
From there, Attack Okalahoma, do or die. Leave 4 troops behind in Colorado
OK to Ark, all in do or die.
Ark to Tenn, all in do or die.
Tenn to Missouri, all in do or die.

Tactical move, 3 units, Arizona to Utah

End turn, pray to God I don't die, take card.

But Lewis is trading in two card sets, so he'll just push Teddy back, while Gustaf will just continue building up on the sidelines, and move that huge army out of New York, exactly as planned.

Ok, been thinking long and hard about this. Given how far Teddy took his attack it'd obviously be way, way more beneficial to me to do as Bacon King suggested here. However, a word given is a word given. Sorry, Lewis.

2 in West Virginia
4 in Virginia
7 in Pennsylvania

Attack Pennsylvania->Ohio. Stop if I get to 4 or more lost units. If I win, put minimum number of units there.

EDIT: await further orders, regardless of outcome!
