We can post maps, right?

NCYankee=Blue
AHDuke=Red
Teddy=Green
PiT=Yellow

I used a Republican primary electorate and the apparent (for now) 2012 Republican presidential primary calender.

What electorate are you using (Republican, Democratic, general)?

RPP is center-right. So Moderates to ultra conservatives

Why do you think PiT would win West Virginia and Kentucky? Also, I know Duke is from South Carolina, but even with that bonus, I couldn't see the conservative state of South Carolina voting for someone as socially libertarian as he.

Due to his libertarian appeal, small government belief, the fact that he has tons of local, not federal experience via Governor of the IDS

And with PiT and Yank splitting the conservative vote in SC, Duke's home boy advantage I believe would give him the edge

Are they really that libertarian in West Virginia and Kentucky? I always thought of the Appalachian states as more populist, the opposite of libertarianism.

I still see them as very anti-federal government though. I mean even Obama did real bad there in the general, significantly worse than Dukakis.

I try not to be cynical, but I think Obama's poor performance there may have had to do with something other than his ideology...
And Appalachia seems like the place where people would want the government to 'get its hands off their Medicare', to use a cliche.

Uhm....  WV is probably the single most pro-federal-government state in the entire country, and KY is up there.
