And most of the Libya thread is talking about the Civil War going on there.

Ah and, couldn't help, but, indeed there haven't been a civil war so far there, there was a vast part of the population that fought the forces of their regime. Civil war is when two parts of a population clearly fight each other, here there might not even have been much of a regular army to fight, but maybe rather mercenaries. I don't call that a civil war, but rather an insurrectionary war.

No one is comparing situation in Libya to situation in Bahrain. However, it's clear West did nothing (and I'm not talking about strictly military aspect, of course) in Bahrain case.

Well, the Gulf is kinda 'touchy'...

Some Western powers condemned the repression in words several times, but yeah, I can't remind of some sanctions, well, again, seriously hurting the biggest oil producer in the world is 'touchy'. And Western powers had the 'luck' that the toughest phase of the repression there didn't last long. A few days.
