Have you met or at least seen in person any of the 2012 presidential hopefuls (or the president himself)?  I haven't, though I used to listen to Cain's radio show fairly often.

I shook John McCain's hand at a rally once.

I met with Mark Warner back when he was running his 2008 pre-campaign.

I went to an Al Gore rally/speech in 2000, but I don't think that counts as personal interaction. Ditto for John Edwards in 2004.

I met Rudy during his last run. I also met Rubio, and I can say I know Congressman West now, as I met him 4-5 times. I was invited in February to meet Gingrich at the Lincoln Day Dinner. $200 was worth it though.

I saw Senator Thune at a rally with Keystone Phil and Nixon Now in Iowa in 2008. I shook John McCain's hand and told him I was going into the Military. He got a real serious look on his face and said, "Good, my friend, good."

After that, I snapped this picture of him.

I shook Mike Huckabee's hand the following night at his Iowa Victory rally. He had a shiny gold watch on and has giant hands.

I had a good talk with Mike Pence once, though he isn't really a hopeful anymore. Anyone else I've had a chance to meet won't be running in 2012.

John McCain seems friendlier then the media says, at least to the general public. Ofcourse, he can be differant to his staff, I heard.

I've seen Obama in person a few times, once when he was running for senator, he walked by me as I was in line for a political event, then a few times at various campaign stops he drove by me in his car and waved.

Kucinich ran into me one time after giving a speech, I was standing off to the side.  He's really short.

During a rally in Salvador, I kissed Dilma and I shook hands with some politicians, like Lieutenant Governor Otto Alencar and senators Walter Pinheiro and Lídice da Mata. In 2008, I went to PT convention and I took an photo with minister Luiz Dulci. In 2006, in my first rally, I touched Lula's hands. I'm friend with some politicians, like Zé Neto (Leader of Government in Legislative Assembly of Bahia) and Sérgio Barradas Carneiro (Federal Deputy, son of Senator João Durval and brother of mayor of Salvador).

Not a 2012 candidate, but I did more than just meet someone who unsuccessfully ran for the Green Party nomination.

I've spoken to Newt Gingrich on two different occasions, one time for a few minutes.

If this is all Presidential hopefuls, and not just 2012 ones, I've met Howard Dean on multiple occasions, and same with Ross Perot.

I meant it to be 2012 hopefuls (which is why it's in this forum) but I see that's a lost cause.  The mods may feel free to move this thread to the appropriate board.

When John Kerry was in town to give a speech to a veterans convention, I was a driver for people on his staff. At the airport before leaving, he cam over and thanked a group of us, shook hands and stood for a group picture with us.

I've met Ron Paul twice: once for a campaign stop Jan. 2008 and another was a CFL fundraiser in Sep. 2009. I got once of his books autographed.

No, but I did have interaction with President Bill Clinton's office just after he came into office in the fall of 1993 or spring of 1994, I can't remember which.  I was in a contest in my 5th grade class to write the President of the United States and the letters were sent to the White House.  I was the only one his office responded to and they sent me a packet with a copy of Declaration of Independence, US Constitution, Gettysburg Address, and the Emancipation Proclamation.

Actually, come to think about it, yes I have had an interaction with a presidential hopeful.  Howard Dean in July 2003 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  I was working in nearby Glorieta, NM that summer and some friends and I were walking the square in Santa Fe, and stopped and listened to Governor Dean.  I even got a little autograph.  At the time, I hated every word he said, but I loved the moment, as I was still a staunch Republican, but funny thing is I ended up voting for Senator Kerry in 2004.
