Haha, this canard again? Evidently there are certain Atlasians (and I have been counted among their ranks) who are so skilled at manipulation that they can bewitch anyone into doing anything, and as a result the actions of those bewitched are not their fault.

It's unfortunate that less than 24 hours in, I'm forced to stop being a "nice guy" (for one post), but I can't just sit by while certain people are attacking someone totally innocent in this whole thing.  If you want someone to attack, then attack me.  Shua has a great deal of integrity, and I wasn't totally honest with him.  In fact, he briefly unfriended me over this whole thing ().  He has absolutely nothing to do with my actions, which are entirely my own.

In regards to Shua, he started the lawsuit at a time when some people were (1) unsure of the existance of the vote (I was still piecing it together at the beginning) and (2) concerned as to the legal ramifications of this action (something I believe the Court has correctly stated would be better suited by amending the Constitution to clearly deal with the effects of the closed voting booth).

I would remind people that when Shua became convinced that Gporter did in fact vote, he stated so in public, dropped his court case, and decided to deal with the matter in other ways that would not effect the election.  All of which, in my opinion, shows that he was not a party to the attempts to hijack the election.

Lastly, I have spent quite some time trying to figure out all the parties involved.  If Shua was involved, nothing I have come across on either this site or other sites involved corroborates that.  In fact, his actions here point to his not being involved at all. 

I believe that with nothing more, I will conclude at this time that Shua was not involved at all and acted honorably during his time calling for the court case.

i really underestimated people's response to this whole thing, though in i think i should have  anticipated it.
you are doing a great job Junkie as being much more involved an AG than i have seen before, and the Justice Dept having a thread is great and something i have missed seeing in the past.  i'm working on coming up with a constitutional amendment, so i'd be interested to know if you have any specific ideas of what needs to be changed to keep this sort of thing from being a problem again.

Yes I do have one.  I have been planning out how to get to work updating the wiki.  I have a new position at work, so I will be busy for a little bit.  Later this week I have scheduled some time to get to work.

do you have an idea on what you will update? one thing i've been thinking for quite a while that would be very helpful is a listing of statutes by subject area. (EDIT: I have wiki now myself so would be happy to help with this.)

I have to make a very sad announcement.  I had previously told Tmth that it might come to this, but I no longer feel that I can continue as AG.  I have just taken a new assignment at my job.  It happened after becoming AG, or I would not have sought out this appointment.  Long story short, I will not be able to devote the time you all deserve to this position or to this game. 

As my new job will take the most of time, I do not see a time in the near future where I will be able to bring the amount of time needed to actively participate at the level you all deserve.

Thus, it is with a very heavy heart that I resign as AG.  I want to thank everyone, especially Tmth, who has been one of the main reasons I really enjoyed this game.  Thank you all.  While I will try to stay involved as a citizen, I know you deserve better than the few minutes I can spare each week.

Thank you everyone for the good times.  Best of wishes and I hope I see you around in the future.
