Anybody know anything about Mitt Romney?  [Considering I reside in Massachusetts, I should know about him, but I don't.]  Is he a Pataki-type character, or what?

You live in MA? Why the NY avatar?

Anyway, I'd say Romney is like a Pataki. He's seems to be a centrist.

I want Governor Jim Nussle (he will be the Governor of Iowa in 2007) as the Republican Nominee.

Nussle/Giuliani 2008!

What experience would he have other than 2 years as Governor?

He's been in the House of Representatives since 1991.

Hmm. So he'd be campaigning on a long house record, basically. He'd have no gubernatorial experience, since he'd have to spend all his time campaigning.

Frankly my hope for Nussle 2004 is impossible, but he may be a good Vice Presidential choice.

(I still think he should run and he may win a write i  vote from me in 2008's Iowa Caucus)

I would Support Jim Nussle, I read up on him also and I like him. I really want Rob Portman, But he needs to run for Senate or Governor  in 2006.

Jeb Bush because the Rep's need to keep FL in their EV column.

Or Tim Pawlenty from MN if he can get re-elected in 2006.

As implied by my sig, Hannity is my #1 choice with Ann Coulter as his running mate.

If it is a wartime election, Giuliani; of peacetime, Schwarzenegger if available, otherwise Giuliani. For either of these candidates, Condi Rice, Liddy Dole, or Bill Frist would be a smart running mate.

Hi!

First I'd like to explain, I am a Republican. I just picked "Other" because it was the color of Cheese.

My first choice would be Mozzarella with Cheddar as a running mate.  No, seriously, I really like Dan Quayle (my dad is a big fan of his) even though people think he can't spell potatoe. Also, he probably couldn't win because of that image, but you never know.

To me it looks like the forum is in favor of Santorum vs. Bayh.

Welcome. Nice to see someone with a strange sense of humor. Smiley

Now personally I'd LOVE to see a Santorum vs. Bayh contest. Wink

Potatoe is a correct spelling of the word.

You know, I might seriously consider supporting a Dan Quayle candidacy in '08...he's been much too maligned by everybody...

Quayle wouldn't be one of my top choices but I do agree that he has been unfairly attacked by most. I'm tired of hearing "Oh Dan Quayle is such an idiot." Sure he has had some...uh...interesting quotes (My math teacher has a wall dedicated to Quayle quotes with his picture in the middle. I have to look at it everyday.) but he's certainly not an idiot.

By my count, we have an 11-way tie for top choice.

Rick Santorum - 1
Bob Ehrlich - 1
Condi Rice - 1
John McCain - 1
Jim Nussle - 1
George Pataki - 1
Jeb Bush - 1
Sean Hannity - 1
Rudy Giuliani - 1*
Bill Frist - 1
Dan Quayle - 1**

I really didn't expect this result. Very odd.

Rudy* - M voted for Rudy saying that he would be his top choice in war time. He then stated that in peacetime, Schwarzenegger would get his support. Since passing that Constitutional amendment is unlikely, I counted his vote for Rudy.

Quayle** - CheeseWhiz - the interesting new cheese obsessing member from Florida - stated that he "really likes" Dan Quayle. Therefore, while he didn't give a definite answer on who he has as his top choice, I will just count the fact that he "likes" Dan Quayle as a vote for Dan Quayle.

Yes, as far as I know Dan Quayle is my #1 choice
(Oh and you know, George Washington spelled lie “lye”, but you never heard of anyone talking about that, did you?)

In case it wasn't obvious from my sig, I'm for Jeb.

And as to the MA/NY thing...I live in MA, but my residence (and my voter registration) is in NY.  Very technical, but that's why I keep my NY avatar.

Jeb Bush!  That’s like, my Governor, too bad he can’t run again in 2006.  You think he has any intentions to run for senator against Bill Nelson?
