For all the Dems here: Who is your number one choice in the 2008 Democratic primaries? I always wanted to have an idea of who the frontrunner is in terms of support on the forum.

I don't know how much chance there is, but after having looked over the facts regarding Evan Bayh, I would very much like to see him be the Democratic candidate in 2008.

You're NUMBER ONE choice. Please narrow it down to one person if possible.

Al Gore.
(Of course, the no 1 man I want to see as President would have no chance of winning anyways, that's basically be a condition sine qua non. This is the No 1 man I want to see win the Dem nomination.)

Evan Bayh.  He embodies the future of the Democratic Party, a shift from the south to the midwest

I'm starting to think a Bayh/Rendell ticket would be quite good, assuming of course that Rendell gets reelected in '06.

Bayh/Richardson is the most electable.

Bayh can pickup Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri and fight for Kentucky, West Virginia, Arkansas.

Richardson nails New Mexico, and fights for Nevada, Colorado, Arizona

Ben Nelson/Zell Miller

Oh, darn, I'm not a Democrat, so my vote doesn't count here.

I would vote for Evan Bayh, Bill Richardson, Mark Warner, or Ben Nelson. That's it for the dems.

She's not that bad, she'd just lose, badly, very badly... I don't trust her and don't agree with her on a number of issues but i don't think she's evil.

Bayh / Warner 2008

However, I'd settle for either Richardson (experience) and Lincoln (southern centrist) as VP

I don't think America is ready for a woman VP, and I don't think either party will forget about Ferraro for a very long time.
