Hardly, Kerry did way better in the state than Gore (way above his national score), I'm glad that Rossi won actually but the state is very definitely moving in the direction of the Dems (liberal ones that is) its like a colder California and only liberal Republicans like Arnie and Rossi stand a chance...

You're not the first person to mention that Cantwell was dreading a race from Rossi.

Considering the presidential-year race between Patty "Osama runs day-care facilities" Murray and Nethercutt, Cantwell would have obliterated Rossi in an off-year election.

The governorship may be all that stands between the Washington State GOP and oblivion (like MA, itr)

Maybe, shes a Libertarian so I think she took more votes away from Rossi? I don't know.

She got over 2%. That wasn't all Libertarian vote.

It took away from both, but more Democratic than the average Libertarian. I bet she got a good bit of the Green vote.
