Well, we have a current Illinois State Representative (muon2). I know AndrewCT helds some elected office as well.

As of candidates, DWTL ran (and lost badly) for Education Board, Stark ran for California Assembly (lololol) and I know there was dude DWPerry (from Alabama, lololol) before I arrived, who was a runner for various stuff too.

Are we aware of any more candidates/officeholders in RL, who are or used to be Atlas posters?

I thought that that was the real Stark and ours was just a fan using his name?

Or was he lying and he is Stark?

Phil, didn't you run for something? I guess somebody mentioned this.

EDIT: Yes, wait, somebody even posted a ballot photo!

Yes, I've run for, won and lost elections for partisan offices but the events of last year are an especially long story. If anyone really wanted to discuss it, they can contact me and I'll discuss it as I have done with others but discussing it here isn't appropriate. I saw what the threads in the past contained and it was unfair.

I'll say this for anyone - and I honestly mean anyone - here: it is unfair to take what happens here and use that to form our opinions on a poster's run for office in real life. Plenty of people dislike me or maybe someone like DWTL but that doesn't mean that you'd disagree with what they set out to do in their campaign. You can dislike someone here but always realize that you can dislike their opponent even more.

I think it's fair to oppose someone generally known to be an utter failure as a human being like he was.

New Jersey votes were able to understand that without our "help" Smiley

Again, there is more to people than what we know here and whose to say that you don't actually agree with him compared to his opponents? There's just too much that we don't know.

It's what we didn't know that worried me more...

I've been approached by both the Greens and the Liberal Party (I clearly keep my cards close to my chest...) the Libs have finally stopped asking me.

Yes, there was a time when I could have considered it - but they just had to get rid of Turnbull.

... I also find their social policy reprehensible... mind you, I also find the ALP social platform in some ways equally so... and the Greens? I would never trust them with an economy. I vote for them... but wouldn't want them in charge of anything...

In fifth grade I ran for Student Council president. I got third place I think, or maybe second, in a field of five or so. BUT the guy who won handed out candy.

Later in the year I accepted the prestigious position of Student Council Secretary.
