Does anyone know which states have voted against eachother for the longest time?

Guess: South Carolina and...uh...really, I have no idea.

I think Virginia and Minnesota have voted against each other in every election from 1976 onward.

There are probably ones further back than that, though.

In recent memory...

DC and any of the Deep Blue States (AK/ID/UT/WY/ND/SD/NE/KS/OK/IN/VA)  [1968-]

if DC isn't a state:

MN and any of the Deep Blue states [1976-]


Further back in history...we'll have to see.

Hurdling over the 1984 stumbling block

MA-AZ only lasts from 1960 to 1976, so not that long [5, compared to MN's 8]

Past 1972...

AZ-AR goes from 1952 to 1968, again only 5 elections.


AL/MS - VT goes from 1876 - 1968. [24 Elections] I think that wins.
