Hmmm...wonder why Christie did so well in 09. People says he's moderate, but his campaign web site was pro-life this and tax-cut that. That sounds pretty conservative to me. Then again, Kentucky and Arkansas have modestly obedient Democrats for Governors and that though Clinton could count on them in 92 and 96, I cannot foresee how any Presidential Democrat will ever get close to winning them again.

It was anti-Corzine voting when incumbents were at their low point.  David Paterson might have lost too had he been New York's nominee in 2010 and it's unfortunate no challenger took Corzine out in a primary.

People in NJ were not voting on social issues in '09. Dems had complete control of government long enough for Corzine to become the bastard to be voted out.

As far as Palin's numbers go, scientists working in a laboratory could not create a worse Republican candidate for the state of NJ. Even Barbour isn't quite as much a mismatch.

Fair enough. I wonder what we would have to do down here to pinch Scott, though.

Those Palin numbers are horrible. If this is New Jersey I wonder what the moose killer polls out of my home state? Sounds like she would be lucky to get 25% here when compared to NJ's numbers.

I'm from Jersey and just about everyone I know hates her. Me and my roommate joke that Jared Loughner makes more sense than Palin.

Hahaha I love it. I also am not trying to be strictly partisan, because their are some wacky democrats in my own party that I hate. Some were defeated in November others are still in office (Kucinich). However of the candidates with the highest media profile Palin is the biggest joke of them all.

How often do nonscandaled incumbents lose by much more than 3%? Even in 2006, Ehrlich lost by 6%. Roy Barnes lost by 5% in 2002. Mark Sanford won by 6% in 2002. That's about all I could find for the last decade.
