Anywhere in the world.

For me:
Labour actually doing the impossible and stopping a Tory landslide
Gillard and the ALP holding on in Australia
The Democrats holding the senate
Having my first form of vote - Labour leadership

I have a few favourites from Sweden:

1) When the SVT exit poll showed Alliance; 49,1% Red-Greens; 45,1%
2) Thomas Bodström being kicked out of parliament because he didn't come home from the US.
3) Centre Party still being bigger than the Sweden Democrats.

Both the UK General Election and the Election of the German Federal President, in which the government's candidate, Christian Wulff, recieved much less votes forecasted.

The relief of PM Gillard being re-elected...sorta. At least, relief to avoid PM Abbott.

US:

Christine O'Donnell's primary win
Joe Miller losing, which made my day
Sestak's primary win
Shumlin winning in Vermont

Europe:
Belfast East and Robinson losing
Cleggmania and its demise
French regionals
Belgium

elsewhere:
Despair over the closeness of the Australian election and relief at Gillard's win
The defeat(s) of Tasso Jereissati, Marco Maciel, Fernando Collor, Ronaldo Lessa
Collor in general
Vaughan being a stupid suburban sh**thole, electing a stupid quasi-fascist mafia-like loon
Hating Canada
My first actual vote, and the landslide defeat of my right-wing loon crook-mayor in October

Belfast East was something else. I don't think I have ever been so genuinely shocked - yet also delighted - by an election result before.

Let's post pictures!

That's the best part of it, obviously Grin

My favourite is probably the third one down.

60% of Alaskans voted against her and she has a 53% disapproval rating right now. Not exactly America fighting back.  Tongue

I might have a bigger favorite......but for right now this is all that comes to mind

Ah, yes, certainly up there. So happy I could witness him concede right in front of my face. But number one is obviously...

Well, Phil, I thought about that but Sestak beating Specter surprised me more.......call me naive, but I thought the old wrinkled prune could pull it off.

Well, this is favorite moment not most surprising.  Wink

Though I predicted Specter would be a narrow winner on Primary night, I wasn't shocked that he lost. The margin was certainly more surprisingly though.

Probably March 21, for two reasons. There were also great moments in the US electoral cycle, and Australia and UK were epic elections.

Borloo quitting French government, opening a slight possibility that there will be one candidate able to kill Bayrou, Villepin and Morin and to make things a bit more suspenseful in the 2nd round between Sarkozy and Strauss-Kahn.

1.) Cameron becoming British PM

2.) Quinn winning in Illinois

3.) Lame duck congressional session in Illinois (civil unions, abolition of death penalty, deficit reduction) (technically 2/3 of it in 2011...but same Congress Wink )
