IMHO, the most interesting finding from this poll is that 15% of Spaniards plan to move in the next 12 months.

Not that surprising considering the Spanish economy. Ireland's emigration numbers are pretty bad as well. I wonder what the numbers would be for Latvia...

...lol, I think you're misreading it. It says of the 2% of Britons planning to move in the next 12 months, 15% of those are moving to Spain.

Anyway, this reminds of me Bend It Like Beckham, where the girls want to move to America where women's football is taken more seriously!! The land of opportunity!!!

Wow. Italy's numbers are surprisingly low. I read something a few months ago about the supposedly alarming number of Italians that wanted to/planned on moving. This is great news.

Might have something to do with young people not having £27,000 for a degree.

Does that explain the other countries?

Hopefully the people who leave Spain vote PP/FET-JONS already so it could serve to clean up the place.

Oh wheesht

My mum got on her hands and knees to clean a bank after it closed to earn a little extra money. I grew up in a house with no central heating and single windows that frosted inside during the winter. I've been without Christmasses to keep the household ticking over. Don't you dare project on to me whatever stupid class war you're playing in your head.

This just proves that British people like to moan.  "I hate my country but I won't actually move!  Whine, whine, moan, moan, give me some marmite on toast and some lovely black pudding thank you!"

Oh, weird.

I doubt anywhere near that many Spanish people will be leaving the country in 12 months.

Isn't this basically the best time to be Spanish? It seems like everyone is obsessed with their country...or maybe I'm just see things through a Soccer lens too much.  Tongue

Still, if even, say, 10% of that number do end up leaving, that's, oh, about 690k Spaniards fleeing the country Shocked

All of you need to learn how to read tables. Tongue

It says as a percentage of those who say they would like to migrate. So, out of those Spaniards who would like to move to another country as many as 15% are planning to make a permanent move within the next 12 months.

Usual whining of journalists. Some rehtoric about the country's "decline". As usual reality is different.
Condsider that young perople's eldorado seemed to be Ireland and Spain, you know, the usual leitmotiv about these "modern and fast growing" countries opposite to old and inefficient Italy.
Quite laughing looking at the last economic performances of these counties, isn'it?

Then it doesn't make any sense for you to be a Conservative.
