That is awesome news for Obama. The "Generic Other Party Candidate" almost always wins at this point in the election cycle.

Pander too much to Corporate America and the Republican nominee might lose some people whose economic distress is too severe. Pander to the Religious Right, and the Republican nominee throws away the suburban secularists that many political analysts were surprised went to Obama.
