So basically Huckabee does best against Obama in the South and Romney in the rest of the country. So I guess the best shot for the Republicans with the current field is Romney/Huckabee ticket - that would win maybe 220-235 electoral votes. Good Lord, we need a darkhorse out of nowhere badly.

I guess this is a weak showing for Obama considering he won the state by about 13% in 2008 although I never understood how he was able to win a state like Wisconsin by that much anyway.

McCain was chronically underfunded and pulled very early from Wisconsin.

The places Obama really needs to protect are the MI, MN, WI, NH, IA and NV.

Even if he slides backwards on pop vote and electoral college, I think he's holding his ground in states he cannot afford to lose.

The next states that will be polled this weekend are NC (certainly) and probably FL (currently leads the voting, followed by PA and TX).

It looks like we have to wait a long time to get a Colorado poll, because PPP says they'll only poll the states with 2012 Senate races first and then states who don't.

I predict he'll be losing Florida to everyone but Palin.

I´m not so sure about this. The 2010 Exit Poll gave Obama a 45-54 approval rating in Florida.

If he`s losing the state in this poll, then very narrowly (which can be expected from Florida).

So once again Romney proves himself to be the most electable Republican out of the top four in places Republicans need to do well in order to defeat Obama.

I agree. The question will only be if he can survive the Republican primaries and its spin after NH.

The Republicans barely won the governorship and won the Senate seat with less than 50% of the total vote in a bad year for Democrats. Florida has no self-evident parallel in any other State.
