Well, at least Han wins the nomination.

Mechaman would make an awesome dark horse!

seems likely. Though Dallasfan could probably take California and Oregon as well.

If you threw in JBrase though, there would be a fight in the south which would weaken han considerably across the board

Anywho, here's how I see things playing out:

The South is a battle between Jbrase, a native son, and Libertas - Myself battling with Andrew in the Northeast and on the Coast, battling Svensson in the West, and wormyguy flanking me on my right.

I'm curious whom these Populares endorse:

Shua
SPC
Rosetta
Mint
Redcommander

I like your use of battle terms decribing primaries. It makes it sound epic. Smiley

Oh, I'm going to use the GOP 2008 calendar to do a date-by-date breakdown of this.

In a little while.

January 3rd: Iowa - the first competition in the primary season. Polls show the race in a dead-heat between Jbrase (a native son), Libertas, and Dallasfan. Han polls rather poorly relative to his national average, having made a name for himself as a dyed-in-the-wool deficit hawk and virulent to Big Corn. In the deep of night, after much anticipation, the Iowa Caucuses are called for Jbrase.

January 5th: A boring Caucus is made even more boring - Svensson wins the Wyoming Caucuses with little trouble.

January 8th: The first primary state in the nation, Jbrase hoped to pick up momentum from his win in Iowa, but it hasn't materialized. Dallasfan, whom serves right in New Hampshire's backyard, holds a lead in polls but is nervous about a challenge from his right - Wormyguy. Not too long after the polls reach a close, New Hampshire is called decisively for Dallasfan - which was make or break for his campaign - with AndrewCT placing second.

January 15th: The Michigan primary commences. The main contenders are Han, a rustbelter, Jbrase, and Andrew, hoping to make a stand in the Michigan burbs and amongst independents. At the end of the day, Han prevails, and he has his first victory under his belt. NiK, Andrew, Mechaman, and Svensson drop out after disappointing results, but having accrued a few delegates - and hold out on their endorsements... for now.

January 19th: A primary for both sides of the country. Libertas and Dallasfan square off in South Carolina while it's a showdown at high noon between Jbrase and Han in Nevada. Jbrase eeks out a win with 31%, having made his case to Mormon voters on his pro-life credentials. On the eve of midnight Libertas scores his first win in South Carolina, a blow to the Dallasfan campaign.

January 29th: Polls bounce around a week into the primary - Dallasfan's early lead in this state waning to 2% in an average of all polls. However, just a day before the primary, Dallasfan wins a crucial endorsement from Governor Daniel Adams, which gives him the edge to win the Sunshine State, breathing life into his campaign.

February 1st: On the heels of his Florida victory, Dallas wins the Maine Caucuses.

February 5th: Super Tuesday - a battle royale between the Presidential hopefuls, a flurry of campaign ads and sign wavers. Libertas expands his delegate count with New Jersey, Oklahoma, Utah, New York, and West Virginia. Han eeks out a win in Illinois, Minnesota, and Delaware. Dallas holds onto Massachusetts in a tighter-than-expected race with Wormyguy, aswell as winning convincingly in North Dakota, Connecticut, Alaska, and California. Jbrase stakes his claim in Dixie - Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, aswell as eeking out in Montana. The day ends with Missouri still outstanding, but just before dawn, it is called for Jbrase. Disappointed with his results, wormyguy drops out and endorses his fellow native son, Dallas, plotting a bid for the White House in four years.

February 9th: Dallas wins comfortably in Kansas, while Jbrase scores in Louisiana. All eyes are on Washington, where Libertas wins in a nailbiter.

February 12th: Virginia and Maryland go dutch between Jbrase and Han.

February 19th: Han wins comfortably in Wisconsin.

March 4th: Days before the March primaries, Dallas makes some concessions and cajoles NiK, Mechaman, and Andrew into endorsing him, trying to make his case as the "front-runner." Sven goes rogue and endorses Han. Most of the primaries yield uninteresting results - Vermont and Rhode Island going to Dallas, and the native Governor winning in Texas. In Ohio, hotly contested, the returns spell an upset victory for Han, though it wanes considerably (3%) by the time all precincts report.

March 11th: In a heated primary battle with Libertas, Jbrase narrowly carries Mississippi. Libertas, with a considerable amount of clout, suspends his campaign.

April 22nd: Han carries his home-state, though the other contenders try to "make a show."

May 6th: Dallas carries Indiana, and Jbrase wins in North Carolina.

May 13th: Dallas carries Nebraska.

May 20th: Jbrase adds Kentucky to his belt, while Oregon pulls through for Han.

May 27th: Despite a last ditch effort by Han, Dallas pulls off Idaho.

June 3rd: The final primary - though it has a statistically insignificant amount of delegates, too few to prevent a dead-locked convention, all candidates make an effort. Despite strong initial returns for Dallas, Han prevails.

All good except until shortly before Super Tuesday Libby is revealed to believe 9/11 was a US government hoax rather than orchestrated by Al-Queda. Somehow, New Yorkers and Jerseyites don't find much appeal in this message, and he ironically even loses Staten Island. Tongue

Agreed!

But there is no way I'm doing another date-by-date primary thing. I only have enough steam to do those once a month.

I think libertas would sorta play like giuliani (not the same in campaign tactics, but how it ends up)

He'd clearly start as the front-runner and maintain that for awhile do to ID, money, etc, but fail to win any states in the end

I have the specifics saved at home, I'll try and post them later. But for the most part, it came down to Dallas, JBase and myself. I gave myself a slight boost in the fimiliarity, but gave Dallas a little more cash. It was pretty tight for the three of us until Super Tuesday, when I was able to take minor leads in the NE states, while JBrase swept the south. Near the end, Dallas droped out, and didnt endorse anyone, so most of his states went to JBrase, and I would lost in the convention. A big part of it was money, JBrase was a fundraising monster, and I was barely able to keep up with him. It was close though, if I would have been able to capture Louisiana, Arkansas, and Michigan, I would have had the nomination.

Oddly enough, JBrase, being celf centered, chose himself to be his VP.

I find the idea of choosing oneself to be one's own VP slightly hilarious..."And the man that I have seen most qualified to fulfill the job in my stead...is...me!"
