Yeah, Mitt Romney also won there in 2008.

Oh, it has plenty of Mormons, but Ron Paul came close behind in second.

Once again the favorables indicate the top four Republicans are hopelessly flawed.

It's only 3 or 4% Mormon, though I suppose "plenty" is subjective.

Ron Paul performed well due to what may have been the most restrictive caucus in the nation. He lost Montana's primary by over 50 points.

This is truly wonderful news. And to Odysseus, couldn't the majority of those 10% that "didn't remember" have voted for Obama?

Uhh... No. This is Montana - the result was 49-47 in '08. I just thought it was rather remarkable that apparently 10% of the electorate either voted for Barr, Nader, or just completely "forgot" who they voted for.

Or they don't want to admit to a pollster who they voted for.

I don't see how this is "wonderful news" Obama came close, but still didn't win in a SHOCKING year for the GOP... this is returning the presidential status quo for MT.

Those 3 EV were never being factored in.

Hence why "forgot" was in quotation marks.

Don't forget Ron Paul, who finished well ahead of Nader and Barr in Montana despite running no campaign and unsuccessfully requesting his name be removed from the ballot entirely. Wink

If Paul got 2.17% under those circumstances, really have to wonder how well he would have done if were actually a real candidate running a real campaign that year.

Keep telling myself what? You're saying Paul wouldn't have done any better as an actual candidate as opposed to being a non-candidate? Roll Eyes

If a candidate with unusually devoted support got 1-in-46 votes when his name was on the ballot?  I mean, wonder away, but.
