No, of course not.  They wouldn't be so stupid as to try that crap again.

One would think so.

No, at least not from what I know right now.

But it wouldn't surprise me if Obama had his own Watergate-type scandal that might warrant it.  The man reminds me of Richard Nixon too much to discount that possibility.

Because it worked out so great for them the last time.

I also look forward to the government shutdown over the budget!

Last time was a legitimate impeachment.  This would not be.

How so?  They trumped up a charge last time.  They could easily do it again.
Plus it keeps the focus off of their policy agenda.

Of course not. I doubt most Tea Party candidates even support that.

They will want to, of course, but they'll likely just wait until 2012 when he is defeated for re-election. That said, they will probably spend the next 2 years doing nothing but launching investigations and probes into everything he does, killing time until they can start really destroying the country in January 2013.

Because Clinton actually committed perjury... Obama hasn't done anything.

Depends how frustrated they get by the end of 2011 and if they feel they have to throw "red meat" to the base because they weren't able to actually make the changes they promised they would. Or if they lose in a government shutdown. Then we'll see it.

I don't agree.  Payback is a bitch.  If they try it they'll pay a price later and put a target on the head of a possible pub President.  They've been bitten by this bug and it didn't work......getting bit again would be batsh**t crazy.

It would totally discredit them, people will say, "Look the GOP doesn't have any real platform, they just want to impeach Democratic presidents."
But the GOP is getting, as you put it, ''batsh**t crazy", especially the Tea Party wing, which is why I don't put it past them.

Debatable.

The alleged perjury came after investigations were launched, since it was allegedly committed during the investigation against him.  So the idea that Obama hasn't done anything prior to the start of an investigation should matter to Republicans.

Here is what I don't get: Once they realized there was nothing legit on Clinton--As in, nothing criminal in Travelgate or any of that stuff--Why did they go down the Paula Jones route? What were they hoping to accomplish?

They couldn't impeach him for cheating, so let's say he just came out and admitted he cheated with Paula Jones and Monica, what would they have done next?

Dropped it, if he would've just admitted it originally.

You don't think they would've kept at him, trying to find whatever else they could otherwise, for the rest of his presidency? I think they would've been to him like the FBI was with Gotti--They would refuse to stop until either something they got him, or until he was out of office. For the GOP Congress in the 90s, it wasn't just politics; it was somehow personal.

Certainly not before he's reelected. And almost certainly not after, either. That horse is dead.

They would have worked on a new angle, pushed and prodded and poked trying to find something to grab onto -- like the way the perjury thing and obstruction of justice charges came about.

Simple as the question above.
With the rabid Tea Party wing of the GOP screaming for impeachment, and worse--Which I think makes for a much more politically heated climate than even the Clinton years--do any of you see the GOP at the very least TRYING to impeach Obama if they gain a majority this November? It doesn't have to happen immediately; It could happen anytime between January of next year and January 2013 or 2017.
It doesn't have to wait.

Texas Democrat Calls For Removal of Obama Now Under Terms of 25th Amendment

You don't often see a black Democrat calling for the impeachment of Obama.
