Usually, the general consensus is that George Wallace's support came mainly from would-be Nixon voters. Where in the country did Wallace take from would-be Humphrey voters?

Personally, I think the best example is the Rust Belt where support for HHH had begun to dwindle.

Yeah, I guess MI, OH and IN are the only possible examples of Wallace taking votes to Humphrey.

NJ was a big one and probably IL too, both states that were very tight Nixon wins.

There's never any way of knowing this sort of thing. Personally, I think a lot simply wouldn't have voted. HHH clawed back most of Wallace's northern working class support by election day, which is why he came so close to winning.

Probably everywhere.  Of course he robbed him blind in the South.

Areas in the Industrial Midwest or Upper big sky states where alienated voters were to be found.

for the South, comparing Republican trends in the era to Wallace votes -

places Wallace took more votes from HHH: TX, OK, AR, north LA, KY, TN, north GA, northwest SC, NC, eastern VA

places Wallace took more votes from Nixon: south LA, MS, AL, south GA, FL, southeast SC, south central VA
