Hessen

I don't hope that Thuringia will be eliminated. It's the best state from East Germany It have friendly and open people and I like the nature there.

Thüringen.

And the best state in the east is MVP, without a sliver of a doubt.

Hessen.

Berlin vs Rhineland-Pfalz makes a beautiful final, the more I think about it. West versus East, city-state versus one of the most rural states, wholly dereligified versus the state where a party strength map still is a denominational map.
And they're probably the states (outside of Hesse and NRW where I have lived) that I've spent the largest part of my life in.

Obliterate Berlin.

Oh, and Goethe and the Grimms... such cliché choices. I'd have much preferred Büchner. Or August Spies for an americospecific pick. (But you can correct that by using John Peter Altgeld for RhP).
But I love the bust of Hahn at the western entry to the parking lot by the Kleinmarkthalle in Frankfurt... "here stood the birthplace of Otto Hahn, such-and-such-Gasse whatever."
