Been listening to a lot of Guns N' Roses recently. I'm really mad at myself because I only discovered their existence this past summer.

Ever since Adam Gontier left Three Days Grace, I've been looking for a new favorite band. Gontier's new band Saint Asonia is the front runner, but I've always been a fan of AC/DC. Other bands in the running is Daughtry, Imagine Dragons, and Aerosmith. Also, even though he isn't a band, Philip Phillips is in the running.

The new Imagine Dragons single is one of the their best songs. Definitely top 3.

The last Alt-J single is great, it feels very theatrical and epic.

Just listened to it, that was pretty good. I'll check out some more of their stuff later.

The 5 best albums of 2017 so far (my opinion, in no particular order)

Evolve by Imagine Dragons
A Girl, A Bottle, A Boat by Train
Lifer by MercyMe
DAMN. By Kendrick Lamar
Mission to Mars by Styx

What do y'all consider the age a song has to be for it to be classic rock. My brother says 10 years.

BTW, my favorite album of 2017 was a tie between Lifer by MercyMe and Perception by NF

My AOTY is Crack-Up by Fleet Foxes, followed in rough order Grizzly Bear's Painted Ruins, Kendrick Lamar's DAMN., Ariel Pink's Dedicated to Bobby Jameson, Tyler The Creator's Flower Boy, Mac Demarco's This Old Dog, and Avey Tare's Eculyptus.

Although it's not like I heard everything last year.

DAMN. would probably be third or fourth for me. Styx new album was quite enjoyable.

Songs that remind me of a particular place and time, for some reason:

- Cash Cash ft. Bebe Rexha - "Take Me Home" (Atlanta, GA, Spring 2014)
- Krewella - "Alive" (West Nashville, TN, May 2013)
- Florida Georgia Line - "Get Your Shine On" (Cancun, Mexico, June 2015)
- Florida Georgia Line - "Tell Me How You Like It" (Lewisburg, TN, July 2015)
- Eric Church - "Springsteen" (Murfreesboro, TN, July 2012)
- Daughtry - "September" (Louisville, KY, October 2008)

I like this idea, I'll give it a shot

John Mayer - Stop This Train (On a train to Virginia in May(?) 2017)
Kendrick Lamar - HUMBLE. (See above, the train ride was the first time I listened to this album in it's entirety)
Three Days Grace - Unbreakable Heart (Pennsylvania, early 2016)
Black Sabbath - Iron Man (Virginia, 2006 and 2008)
Johnny Cash - Hurt (West Virginia, 2013)
Eminem - 'Till I Collapse (South Carolina, 2017)

I've been listening to a lot of Progressive Metal lately. Dream Theater, Opeth, and Tool are my favorites.

Progressive metal is pretty cool, do you like Fates Warning? They're a great band.

I haven't heard Fates Warning, but Animals As Leaders is a recent discovery I love.

Barns Courtney released a new acoustic EP which was surprisingly very well done. It's all original songs, so that is awesome. I mostly won't listen to stripped down versions of already existing songs.

Between the Buried and Me is a perfect mixture of progressive death metal, classic rock, science fiction movie and carnival music. (Yes carnival music)

No, I meant the band Royal Blood but I do like some R&B here and there now that you mention it. 😁

Oh, shoot, I thought that was your sig 😆 Royal Blood is pretty awesome though.

Metallica has a new song, and it's pretty great. Feels a lot like a version of Hardwired that didn't have any profanity.
