By far my favourite album of all-time: a masterpiece. Halfaxa by Grimes

Genres: Ethereal Wave, Dream Pop, Synthpop, Art Pop, Witch House, Ambient Pop
Descriptors: ethereal, fantasy, female vocals, lonely, dark, nocturnal, spiritual, surreal, atmospheric, lush, lo-fi, sad, abstract, depressive, melancholic, medieval

My favourite singles:
4:03 Weregild
27:21 Dream Fortress
32:25 World ♡ Princess
44:36 My Sister Says the Saddest Things

A bit in the style of Cocteau Twins, Panda Bear (which is part of Animal Collective), Braids, Empress Of, ... (which i all do like).

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless (Pitched One Semitone Up) Still not entirely sure how to feel about them, but this definitely makes them more enjoyable. Loveless without it just seems like one great big wall of noise. Maybe I'm just a simpleton.

I listened to Loveless exactly one time and it just gave me a headache. And I usually like things under the label of "noise music". So I guess I don't "get it".

Tried listening to it for three weeks, only got headaches afterwards. I was trying too hard to listen to everything at once and got overwhelmed by all the noise. After about those three weeks it finally "clicked" for me, and now I absolutely adore the album. I think it's cause I finally figured out which parts to focus on, and just let the rest blend into the background "blanket" of sound. Could be full of s*** though, it's definitely not for everyone.

Like: Christian pop/rock, 2000s and early 2010s pop, soft rock

Dislike: Rap of any kind, especially gangsta rap, country, music with significant swearing, hard rock, scream-o, 90% of modern pop or rock released after 2014, anything with too much base (sensory reasons, as I'm autistic)

I know most of ya'll don't really share my musical tastes, but I have a podcast in which I discuss metalcore, post-hardcore, and other related music news and reviews, which can be found here (also on Spotify and iTunes by searching "Mosh Talk") and a Youtube channel where I do reviews and video essays on similar topics. Here's a video I made about some of my favorite records in my collection.

Would appreciate any clicks/watches/likes/subscriptions/whatever.

Two recomendations:

Greta Van Fleet
New band from Michigan (although they started in 2012, its first material got published last year) which could signal the revival of classic rock. They sound great and epic. The singer is just 21 and reminds me of Robert Plant. Summary: Classic rock with a fresh air.

They rock.  I dig their song on the NHL 19 soundtrack...."When The Curtain Falls".  Smiley

Really into Tequila by Dan + Shay. The music video is a bit odd, but the song is great.

I'm a sucker for country love songs, including that one.  Smiley

Hanan Ben-Ari: Aluf HaOlam. His relative is not welcome in the Knesset anymore, but Hanan is always welcome in my playlist.

Adel Tawil and Peachy: Tu m'appelles

Tu m'appelles
Ruf meinen Namen von jedem Ort der Welt
Dann finde ich dich und fang' dich, wenn du fällst
Keine Wüste, kein Sturm, der mich aufhält
Si tu m'appelles, tu m'appelles, tu m'appelles

"In 1938, with the rise of Hitler, Berlin, who was Jewish and a first-generation European immigrant, felt it was time to revive it as a "peace song", and it was introduced on an Armistice Day broadcast in 1938 sung by Kate Smith, on her radio show. "
