Effing awesome. Daydream Nation is a truly brilliant album, and so is EVOL. Sister hasn't really grown on me much though.

Daydream Nation is a truly brilliant album, so is Sister, so is Dirty (though different, perhaps the most accessible), so is Washing Machine, so is A Thousand Leaves.

Some of my alltime heroes.

I saw Ra Ra Riot in Brooklyn on Friday night. Great band... and the cellist has to be one of the hottest women I've ever seen in person.

Do you like The Hated? I think you said you liked Husker Du, so you probably would.

I really never listened to them much. I do like Husker Du though.

So anyone who likes Pavement, what do you think of these guys? http://www.myspace.com/cymbalseatguitars

I saw them last night with The Thermals. I didn't quite think Pavement when seeing them but just listen to them now, wow.

I did enjoy them more live though. The Thermals are a tough act to open for but they clearly held their own.

Is it just me or is Double Nickels on the Dime completely mediocre?

The first track sounded awfully like a Pavement cover band... but the rest is more original. Thumbs up.

I am listening to Mushroomhead's latest album. I know they were never that heavy, but they are essentially industrial rock at this point. Not bad, though the first song really gave me high expectations for the rest of the album. Undecided

High Violet has officially converted me to a fan of The National. Unbelievably awesome record.

Only heard Bloodbuzz Ohio, but I'm gonna buy the latest album soon. I'm always searching for newer music I'll like.

I'll have to give that one another listen. I couldn't get too into it when I first heard it a couple of years ago. "Mistaken for Strangers" is great though.

Today in weird music news... Moe Tucker, drummer of the Velvet Underground, has apparently become a teabagger!

http://pitchfork.com/news/40264-vu-drummer-moe-tucker-reps-for-the-tea-party/

It breaks my heart.

Gross...

At least we still have Lou Reed.

Also John Cale is presumably not a fascist, as he is the son of Welsh coal miners.

Too bad Sterling Morrison is dead. He lived right by me. Maybe I could have went and asked him about his politics.

I'm sure no one cares, but I'm seeing Muse within the next 24 hours. Passion Pit is opening. Going to be great.

Like those 25 minute songs, eh?

I'm going to see him in November. I hope he at least does some of the classic stuff.

The 25 minute song rules!

Lucky, I hear he's really good live.
