Attention Whoring: I just got tickets to see Bob Dylan, My Morning Jacket, and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead all at one concert in June.

Nice. Is Wilco at that show too?

In the good old "Rockpalast" tradition, German TV has fully covered this year's Rock am Ring festival, and most performances are available on You Tube.

The international line-up:
Papa Roach - the crowd obviously loves them
Bullet for my Valentine ..and them as well.
Stone Sour - Band and audience have a lot of fun together
30 Seconds to Mars - Good concert, but the sound could sometimes be better..
Imagine Dragons - unfortunately just an extract, would have liked to see more
Stereophonics - Solid performance
Limp Bizkit - a lot of medleys and covers, surprisingly
Green Day - they have grown quite old, as have Bad Religion
The Killers - never one of my favourites, but for completeness sake
Volbeat - Danish Metal

And from the German line-up:
Kraftklub If they hadn't already been among my favourites, they would have definitely become so after this amazing performance. Check out from 32:00  to see what I mean..
Tocotronic - some bands never get mainstream
Selig - and more "Hamburger Schule". Solid performance.
The BossHoss - Berlin Cowboys, with their quite special humour
Cro - playing at home (he's from the region). The gender bias is pretty obvious..
Fettes Brot - Quite tragic to watch one of the most innovative bands of the nineties becoming a parody of themselves. But the audience still loves them..
Sportfreunde Stiller - I have always been ambivalent about them, and the crappy sound does not really help

Can't really speak to the German lineup but that international one couldn't really get any worse.

Lately I've found myself really drawn to the Rilo Kiley songs sung by Blake Sennett, which is weird because it's so obviously wrong. I wonder what it means.

It means you appreciate some good pinsky in your life.

I'll have to check out Purity Ring's new record. Saw them live years ago.

Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Courtney Barnett, Father John Misty, Sufjan Stevens, Tame Impala, Ty Segall, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and that new St. Vincent track.

Saw Purity Ring last night. Definitely one of the best shows I've been to, top five easily. They played a nice combination of their two albums, though the highlights were Lofticries, Belispeak, Body Ache, and Sea Castle. Apparently it was the biggest show of their tour. The only downside was they refused to play an Encore, but the set itself was pretty solid. I'd recommend seeing them live if you get a chance.

My vid of them opening with Stranger Than Earth:

Saw them a few years ago (they were opening for Dirty Projectors along with Wye Oak). They were okay but they had to play in broad daylight before most of the crowd had even arrived.
