Honestly, I thought it was a step above the three albums before it. The singles from this album are awful, I'll give you that.

My Chem aren't that great to begin with though, so yeah.

Purity Rings new album is amazing.

Tame Impala just released their new single, and it's pretty sexy:

Saw Purity Ring last night. Definitely one of the best shows I've been to, top five easily. They played a nice combination of their two albums, though the highlights were Lofticries, Belispeak, Body Ache, and Sea Castle. Apparently it was the biggest show of their tour. The only downside was they refused to play an Encore, but the set itself was pretty solid. I'd recommend seeing them live if you get a chance.

My vid of them opening with Stranger Than Earth:

Saw them a few years ago (they were opening for Dirty Projectors along with Wye Oak). They were okay but they had to play in broad daylight before most of the crowd had even arrived.

Way to kill the atmosphere, but still I will pretty impressed with their performance. Her vocals were on point the entire night, and the light show was pretty something.

Am I the only person here who thinks that Songs About Jane is one of the best albums of the 2000s?

It was definitely up there.

The good ole days when Maroon 5 were actually decent.

I know, it's hard to believe that the same band that gave us Harder to Breathe, This Love, She Will Be Loved, Sunday Morning also gave us This Summer's Gonna Hurt.  Their newer albums have a few guilty pleasure songs of mine (I like a lot of music that I admit is terrible) but none of the new stuff is on par with the songs I mentioned.

Their new albums are just not good, at all. I will admit I haven't really listened to much Maroon 5 since their second album release. I used to be obsessed with Songs About Jane though.

Then Hot Fuss came out and everything changed.

In some order, probably this one:

"Another Eternity" — Purity Ring
"Every Open Eye" — Chvrches
"Emotion" — Carly Rae Jepsen

Good choices. While I'm not the biggest fan of Carly Rae Jepsen, the one memorable song she released this year was stupid catchy.

Right now, I'm listening to Depeche Mode - Policy Of Truth.  I hear the band has a new album coming out in the middle of the month.  Smiley

It's soooo good!

You mean R&B? I like a few artists; Emotional Oranges would be my favorite.

No, I meant the band Royal Blood but I do like some R&B here and there now that you mention it. 😁
