I was introduced to them pretty recently. They seem decent.

I'm going through a big Buffalo Springfield phase right now for some reason.

Did anyone hear that three of the headliners for Lollapalooza leaked? Eminem, Muse and The Foo Fighters. Wow, that might be the worst group of headliners for a major festival ever.

I may head down to Bonnaroo if they can come up with a solid lineup. It was really bad last year though, so I'm not hopeful.

Coachella's lineup is decent this year but I already saw Arcade Fire pretty recently and they were the best part of it. Plus it sold out already.

Sasquatch! has a pretty cool lineup but I don't think I'm gonna be going all the way to Washington State.

I really wish All Points West was still around.

Arcade Fire is doing Coachella? Id go, too bad California is such a long trek.

Yeah, they're headlining the second day. If you've never seen them live, I can assure you they're phenomenal.

^ Yeah. Have you gone before EMD?

I'd actually say that's a pretty solid lineup for alt-rock, barring Eminem.

I don't like either of those bands, personally.

I'm not a huge fan of Eminen, but he's a pretty epic performer, at least from what I've seen him do on TV and what not.

He has done some epic lip synching on SNL.

I don't get how they won "album of year" and lost ''alternative album of the year" at the same time. Amusingly they lost that one to The Black Keys, who are basically a straight up blues-rock band.

There is a video of their acceptance speech and their encore performance.

Thanks!

I probably won't end up going. I love that Buffalo Springfield is on there but Eminem and Lil' Wayne? Really?

Do you listen to other Buffalo Springfield songs?

Beyond "For What It's Worth"? Yes, the band made three great albums. I feel bad anyone who hasn't heard  "Broken Arrow" for instance.

Just came back from a Crystal Castles show. Pretty sweet. Alice Glass is a great performer.

I'm going to see them tomorrow night... glad you enjoyed it.

I got back from a Crystal Castles show at Terminal 5 a few hours ago. Pretty interesting. I may write a short reaction later.

I wonder if FallenMorgan has ever actually gone to one? Probably not, I guess.

So basically Crystal Castles were a lot of fun live although I did have a few problems with the show overall. Firstly, the two opening acts SUCKED. They just seemed like pretty generic DJs. Maybe if I was high or drunk I could have got some enjoyment out of their sets but I was 100% sober at this show. I really wish I showed up at the venue a lot later than I did. This is also true because CC took forever to come out on stage. There was literally almost an hour between the last opener and their set.

So then they finally come out and Alice Glass is on crutches because she recently broke her ankle and was apparently told by a doctor not to even play these shows. Yet she still managed to hop around the stage like a maniac and actually crowd surfed at a few points during the show. I gotta give her some points for that. I also thought it was really cool how Ethan Kath played guitar, keyboards and sang during parts of the show in addition to the electronic mumbo jumbo... made it feel more like a real band. The drummer was good too.

I did think it was kind of odd how they ran through most of their well known songs in like the first 20 minutes of the show. Most of the stuff sounded really good but their second encore, which was a reworked version of the originally awesome "Untrust Us", didn't really work for me. It would have been nice if they played a little longer too... their set was only about 70 minutes (not much longer than the gap between them and the second opener). Overall, still a good show.

Good news:
I'll be going to an Alice Cooper concert this summer and possibly a Rush concert next month!

Quite jealous.

I saw Alice Cooper a few years back (2004 I think). Pretty entertaining stage show, for sure.

Whoa whoa, what? 70 minutes? That's way longer than most sets I've ever seen. I think the longest I've ever seen was this post-rock band that might've approached 90 minutes. I remember reading about this hardcore band that played for three hours at their last show and apparently set up some sort of record.

Paul McCartney plays shows that are nearly 3 hours long all the time and he's 68 years old. Bruce Springsteen does 3 hours in his sleep. Hell, my own band has played a couple of shows that were that long. This isn't a big deal for bands that don't spend the entire set screaming their lungs out and trying to injure themselves.

The Reading/Leeds Festival lineup has been leaked:

Do want.

That seems pretty "meh" to me.

King Crimson anyone? I'm starting to enjoy their type of...idk, dramatic progressive rock, as opposed to the bluesy Pink Floyd, haven't heard to much of their stuff, just In the Court of the Crimson King, and In the Wake of Poseidon.

Probably one of my favorite bands ever despite not being a huge fan of progressive rock in general. Red is great as was mentioned above but so are Lizard and especially Larks' Tongue in Aspic.
