Jeff Greene: 33%
Kendrick Meek: 23%
Maurice Ferre: 4%
Someone else: 1%
Wouldn't vote: 3%
Undecided: 35%

From July 22 - 27, Quinnipiac University surveyed 782 Democratic likely primary voters with a margin of error of +/- 3.5 percentage points. These likely voters were selected from lists of people who have voted in past elections.

If there was one way to utterly destroy Democratic chances in Florida, this would be it. I suppose they'll be flocking to Crist once Meek loses.

This might backfire for the Dems who are (resigned to) supporting Crist if Greene drops another $20-30 million on attack ads.

OTOH, wouldn't Greene have the financial resources to make it a genuine three-way race? Or are Democrats so repulsed by their nominee being a former Republican that they will back a former Republican out of spite?

They could always vote for the Republican.

Good. I deeply feared the possibility of Rubio winning due to high African-American turnout for Meek and therefore Crist failing to win.

I believe that Crist will caucus with the Democrats if they're in the majority. After all, he's an opportunist Smiley

Given that even if the GOP doesn't get a majority this year, they certainly will in 2012 (when the class of '06 comes up), or, worst-case scenario, 2014, I think you will see just how much of an opportunist Crist is.

Actually in local polling a Greene primary win leads to a Rubio victory. More Democrats support Greene.

And we can expect Greene to use his vast wealth to attack (primarily) Crist - since Rubio supporters are the committed base and unlikely to peel off.

I do remember seeing a poll that Greene actually did a little better than Meek in a three way, but Crist still led Rubio and the margin between those two really wasn't any different.

Well, maybe it was a poll done on their website or something because if it was real we'd know about it.
